What are they talking about now? Fact is, the inside of all plastic mixing bowls for vacuum mixers wear over time. Whether you are mixing gypsum or investment materials, these products have an abrasive wearing effect - and over time the space between the bottom of the bowl and the mixing paddle becomes larger, leaving a thin layer of unmixed material. (Please see bottom photo) The gap has a greater negative impact when mixing smaller amounts of investment like 60 gram bags. Crown & bridge investments that are not mixed completely could affect surface smoothness, expansion, investment break down and finning. If you have not replaced your mixing bowls in the last 12-14 months it may be time to contact your dealer or manufacturer "to mix things up". |
