Crown and Bridge mixing liquid consists of elements like binders and
accelerators that cause investment grain structure and crystalline to grow,
thereby improving expansion.
Question, "when you pick up a bottle of mixing liquid, do you shake the bottle before you pour out your measured amount?" If you answered no, it's time to mix it up! Heavier elements in the liquid will settle to the bottom of the bottle and their concentrations will become stronger. You may notice that as you get to the bottom of the bottle, your casting fit looser due to the higher concentrations. To help ensure consistent results, shake the mixing liquid before every use. |

It is easy to check your mixing liquid if you suspect it might have been subjected to freezing. Shake the liquid and pour an amount into a clear container and look at it in front of a bright light. If you see the crystalline (snowflake-like objects) floating down thought the liquid it has freeze damage and is no good. You cannot get the crystalline back into suspension and the liquid must be replaced. Another recommendation — never store your mixing liquids in the direct sun. |
